Living room chairs should be lightweight and easy to move since they may need to be shifted to accommodate various activities and even differences in lighting at various times during the day. It may not be a great idea to use heavy varieties of wood like oak or rosewood. The color scheme should blend well with the colors of the couch, wall paint and other elements of soft furnishings like curtains and wall treatments. Chairs made of painted wood fit the bill, in terms of the ease with which these chairs can be blended into the decor, coupled with adequate strength.
Purchasing a used office chair is much more affordable than purchasing a brand new chair. Because the chair has been previously used by another customer, office furniture dealers are able to provide a chair that once could have cost $500 brand new for a highly discounted price. This is beneficial to any business or home customer that is looking to save money while providing their employees or themselves with a comfortable chair to sit in. When looking for a used chair, be certain to fully understand the pricing. If a chair appears to be significantly lower in price than its original cost, ask a sales representative why there is such a large discrepancy in price. Do not be afraid to ask the same questions that you would normally ask when purchasing a new item, you will want to be certain that the product you are purchasing, although used, will last you for years to come. Many used office chairs also do not come with their original warranties, making it even more important to fully understand why the chair is considered to be used.
Your dining table is another key piece of furniture that will determine how many chairs will be able to fit around the table. Be sure to measure your dining table’s length prior to purchasing and then find out the overall width of the chairs to be certain that they will fit around the table. If your current dining chairs already fit comfortably around your dining table, this will be a good indication of how many new chairs you will need to purchase.
The single most overlooked feature to consider when looking at buying office chair is the base. It is standard for these chairs to have casters or wheels. However some chairs come with only four spokes, or for legs with wheels; others with five, or six. It is important to get a chair that has more than four legs. With only four legs, depending on the orientation of the chair, it can be easy to tip out of the chair. Because of the head rest, someone sitting in the chair will be inclined to sit back and lean back in the chair. If the chair has only four legs, i.e. a base with four wheels, if they are leaning back between two of the legs, the chair could tip over backwards. (The taller back of an executive chair makes this more likely than with a smaller, standard office chair.) With five or more wheels, the chair becomes more stable. Of course, the other determining factor of the stability is the width of the base. Again, high-end executive chairs will have a wider base.
Comfort is very important but aside from that, another equally important thing we need to consider is the support level a chair can provide. Some chairs that have really soft seats, back and so on feel so comfortable the first time we sit on it, but if it does not provide ample support for the body, trust me, you are going to be sick and tired of it after a few hours.
